PLUME
Turning token distribution into a reason to contribute.
Across two distribution phases, Clique helped Plume move from an initial pre-mainnet airdrop to a contribution-driven system where user activity could accelerate access to locked tokens.

“Clique helped us design a distribution that could evolve with the network. What started as a flexible pre-mainnet claim became a system that connected token unlocks directly to participation across the Plume ecosystem.”

THE STORY
About Plume
Plume is a blockchain network built around real-world assets, designed to bring asset issuance, distribution and use onchain through its ecosystem of applications.
Challenge
Plume’s distribution strategy evolved alongside the network itself.
For the initial distribution, PLUME was launching before Plume mainnet was live. The team needed to distribute tokens on Ethereum while giving users flexibility over how and when they received them, including the option to wait for mainnet.
Once mainnet launched, the objective changed. Plume wanted users receiving tokens on its network to contribute to the ecosystem rather than simply claim their allocation and leave. The distribution needed to limit large immediate unlocks while giving active users a way to access their allocation faster.
There was also a practical constraint: claiming on Plume mainnet normally required users to already hold PLUME for gas, creating friction for users trying to receive PLUME for the first time.
Solution
Clique built the distribution across two phases.
For Phase 1, users could choose between three routes: claim immediately on Ethereum, defer their claim until Plume mainnet in exchange for a boost, or receive their allocation through a centralized exchange. This gave Plume a way to begin distributing PLUME before mainnet while allowing users to choose how they wanted to participate.
Phase 2 moved the distribution onto Plume mainnet and introduced contribution-based unlocks. Users could access part of their allocation on Day 1, while the remainder stayed locked. Instead of relying on a fixed vesting schedule alone, Clique connected those unlocks to activity tracked across the Plume ecosystem. Users who completed qualifying tasks and reached the required leaderboard threshold could unlock their remaining allocation early. Users who did not participate would receive the remainder after six months.
Clique also integrated its paymaster service to make claims gasless. This removed the need for users to acquire and bridge PLUME before they could interact with the claim contracts on Plume mainnet.
Together, these mechanics turned the second distribution from a one-time claim into a system designed to reward continued participation in the network.
Results
Clique supported Plume across both its pre-mainnet and mainnet distributions, allowing the distribution mechanics to evolve alongside the network.
The system gave Plume a way to offer flexible claim routes before mainnet, remove gas friction once distribution moved onchain, and connect accelerated token unlocks to measurable ecosystem participation.
